How do i get prepared for my Boudoir shoot?
I know... Boudoir it sounds intimidating, right? Well, it shouldn't be boudoir sessions are such an uplifting experience to watch women walk in feeling unsure and walk out ready to take on the world. You don't feel confident enough? This photoshoot is the perfect way to get that confidence you are longing for.
I can give you the rundown to have you walking into your boudoir session feeling prepared.
What can I do to make myself more comfortable?
When preparing for your photoshoot you should do all the little things that make you feel powerful. Shave, nails, and everything you love doing to pamper yourself. You can't look good if you don't feel good! You can plan your own "feeling myself" playlist to play during your shoot. These simple steps alone can make a huge difference for your comfort before the session.
Show those hands and feet some love!
When doing a boudoir session your hands and feet will be in most of your pictures. You don't know how many times I have heard "Darn, I wish I would have done my nails". So having them camera-ready will be a huge relief for you the day of your shoot.
Polish can be frustrating when you don't know what color to pick so here are a few ideas.
Match the polish to your planned outfits.
Do you want a fierce look? A bold red will do just that.
You can always choose a one for all kind of polish like light pink, nude or clear polish.
Make sure the bottom of your feet are clean; as they may show n some of your shots.
Take care of that skin girl
These are some of those tips most don't think of before their session but can make the biggest difference. They can also help to keep your skin looking fresh and dewy.
Drink tons of water days leading up to your session, hydrated skin is beautiful skin.
Don't skip out on that skincare routine
Come to your session in comfy baggy clothes, things like tight bras, socks, and jeans can leave indentions in your skin.
Shave legs, underarms, and bikini line the night before or morning of your session. If you choose to wax schedule it 2-3 days before your shoot.
Tanning let's be honest, all skin is beautiful skin but if tanning is your thing go for it girl. Just make sure you use a method you are familiar with so there are no oopsies.
Keeping your lingerie camera-ready
This one is something I would have never thought about before I started photographing boudoir sessions. These tips are huge time savers and can save you from unneeded stress.
Check all the pieces of your outfits for tags and cut them out, you don't want to have to take out time from your session to do this!
Try on your outfits and make sure it fits and you feel comfortable in it.
Try keeping them wrinkle-free and fresh
